Prunus lusitanica
Laurels are very useful in a large landscape and this one is no exception. It does well in full shade or full sun, very accommodating. It will develop into a large plant in time unless pruned. Very good hedging plant, a nice alternative to the cedar.
Rhodo "Ken Janeck"
This is a wonderful yakushimanum hybrid known for it's wonderful foliage. This compact low plant achieves three feet in ten years.
Rhododendron "Blue Tit"
This Rhodo impeditum hybrid has a more intense blue colour to the flower and is medium in height. Useful in smaller spaces this small leaved Rhododendron creates a nice contrast.
Rhododendron "Dreamland"
This is a prolific blooming Rhodo with soft pink flowers which emerge in mid May. Another bonus of this plant is it's sun tolerance. This is a low compact plant which grows 4' for every 10 years.
Rhododendron impeditum
This small leaved Rhodo is very useful in higher light areas. It has a mass of purple flowers in May. This plant will stay within 1-1.5' in height but spread up to 3'
Rhododendron PJM
This is one of the classic Rhodo's, 3-4' in height and up to 10' wide. This plant is a hybrid between three different species. Probably the most adaptable Rhododendron and is capable of taking full sun.
Sarcococca humilis
A tough evergreen shrub which produces fragrant white flowers in late winter to early spring. A low almost ground cover effect is created by the plant. Very useful in deep shade where other plants would be challenged.
Styrax japonicus
Styrax japonicus is a small well behaved tree which is appropriate for the small garden. White flowers emerge in June and form small woody seed capsules that persist through the winter. It enjoys sun to part shade and is very adaptable.
Thuja plicata "Excelsa"
A vigorous hedging form of our native western red cedar. Fast growing, up to 5' per year when the right growing conditions are met. Likes some moisture during the growing season, it is well suited for most landscapes.
